About Jim Petty
Jim Petty is a small business owner and a CPA. As a respected veteran in the real estate industry, Jim is on the executive leadership team of a multi-state real estate firm. Jim’s community involvement and service is focused on growing the next generation. He began volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club after college and remains an active volunteer supporter of the clubs, receiving multiple state and national awards for his years of service. He is a 20-year youth Sunday school teacher, youth camp and VBS volunteer at First Baptist Church, Van Buren. His statewide service includes the Area Council of Boys and Girls Clubs of Arkansas (past Chairman), the Arkansas Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs, the Arkansas Society of CPAs Student Education Fund Board, and the Arkansas Society of CPAs (past President) where he was recognized as the Society’s Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry. He also has served on several regional and national boards and committees with the Boys and Girls Clubs and American Institute of CPAs. He currently serves on the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Affordable Housing Advisory Board.
Jim and his wife Janet have been married for 37 years. They have lived in Van Buren for 26 years. They have two children, Hannah and Logan. Logan is finishing up his business degree in Fort Smith and Hannah lives in Fayetteville with her husband Phillip along with Jim’s granddaughter (and pride and joy) Penelope Jane. Jim is an avid runner and has completed several marathons, combining his love for running with charitable causes such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Komen Race for the Cure.
